CHICAGO (WLS) — A gunman pulled up to a Northwest Side crash scene and shot someone early Sunday morning, Chicago police said.<\/p>\n

Police said the shooting happened in the Humboldt Park neighborhood’s 3800-block of West Chicago Avenue around 1:45 a.m.<\/p>\n

A 22-year-old man was traveling in a vehicle when it became involved in a crash, police said.<\/p>\n

Police said that’s when the driver of another vehicle, which was not involved in the collision, pulled up. A gunman got out of that vehicle and fired shots, striking the victim in the chest several times.<\/p>\n

The Chicago Fire Department transported the victim to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n

The suspect, a male of an unknown age, got back into the vehicle and fled the scene.<\/p>\n

There is no one in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.<\/p>\n

Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.<\/p>\n
