CORAL GABLES, Fla. \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>In a game complete with a two-hour weather delay, the Jacksonville Dolphins slugged it out with the University of Miami, ultimately falling 1-0.<\/p>\n The Dolphins (2-0-1) and the Hurricanes played about as close as two teams could all day. With clear skies in the first half, the score was tied 0-0. Both teams had just one corner each in the first 45 minutes and JU narrowly led in shots, 3-2.<\/p>\n With wet, slippery conditions in the second half, Miami took a slight advantage and found a seam in the 54th\u00a0minute for the game’s only goal. In terms of shots, Miami led 3-1 in the game’s final 45 minutes.<\/p>\n Jacksonville finished with four total shots, one each from Frida Johansson<\/a>, Laura Di Mascio<\/a>, Paula Herranz<\/a> and Olivia Peal<\/a>. Peal finished with the team’s only shot on goal after playing 46 minutes.<\/p>\n In the waning two minutes of the game, Jacksonville had a handful of chances in the box but couldn’t get past the Miami defense for the equalizer.<\/p>\n With 60 seconds to play, the combined defensive efforts of Samantha Sharrocks<\/a> and Julia Delprat<\/a> kept the score at its final. In the net, Pia Bozic<\/a> made two saves.<\/p>\n JU will stay on the road for its next contest, an Aug. 31 date at Troy University.
