Scores of \u201cSex and the City\u201d super fans are trading in their Manolo Blahniks for Nikes <\/a>in Brooklyn every week to run and party in the honor of star Kim Cattrall\u2019s 69th birthday.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, Honey: The Kim Cattrall 69K<\/a>\u201d involves a 6.9-kilometer jaunt two to three times a week \u2014 with no particular starting point or route but ending in a set local bar for a watch party featuring Cosmo-fueled cool-offs and iconic \u201cSamantha\u201d episodes from the ground-breaking HBO series.<\/p>\n

\u201cSixty-nine is such a perfect age to celebrate Samantha, and she\u2019s aged well in every possible way,\u201d said event organizer Kat Thek, 38, who previously gained Internet fame by posting fake filming notices<\/a> for the \u201cSATC\u201d spinoff \u201cAnd Just Like That\u201d last year, to The Post.<\/p>\n

Co-organizer Mary Dauterman, 37, said Cattrall, who famously portrayed the free-spirited and adventurous Samantha<\/a> and turned 69 on Aug. 21, is a favorite among Big Apple women because \u201cshe fits in their world.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut she also has a level to her that\u2019s superhuman,\u201d Dauterman said. \u201cNot 100% of the time, but a lot of her views on sexuality and the world feel very modern \u2013 she\u2019s saying things that still feel extremely relevant today.\u201d<\/p>\n

The duo\u2019s quirky runs \u2014 which began in July and will stretch for 10 weeks \u2014 start with a 6.9-kilometer trek to Clinton Hill\u2019s Fulton Grand bar. Once there, dozens of running-gear-clad fans wind down over a themed cocktail and \u201cSex and the City\u201d episode, ranging in titles from \u201cPolitically Erect\u201d to \u201cAre We Sluts?\u201d<\/p>\n

The event, orchestrated through the running app Strava, has even been adopted by lone fans around the US and world \u2014 from Tulsa, Okla., to New Haven, Conn., to Los Angeles and Amsterdam and a small city in Russia, organizers said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never been into sports, but it\u2019s a community thing,\u201d Thek said. \u201cAnd it feels like a sports experience because everybody is watching the TV and hooting and hollering at it.\u201d<\/p>\n

She and Dauterman said there\u2019s no requirement to actually run and that many participants have done partial-runs, walked or forewent the physical challenge altogether.<\/p>\n

To quote Samantha, Thek said, \u201cI don\u2019t\u00a0want to be\u00a0in a situation for even an\u00a0hour\u00a0where I\u2019m not enjoying myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event series started off as a \u201ckind of a joke\u201d between the two Bed-Stuy residents, they said. But it quickly evolved into a fun way to meet other fans \u2013 often single women living in the area \u2013 who bond over Samantha\u2019s no-nonsense attitude and one-off innuendos.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a surprising way to bring people together,\u201d Dauterman said. \u201cIt just makes it really easy to have a casual hang in a way that can be a little weird in this big city of ours. \u2026 It\u2019s a great show to watch with people. Everyone has huge reactions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Participant and Greenpoint, Brooklyn, resident Caroline Fay said at the bar, \u201cMy friend \u2014 who\u2019s meeting me here \u2014 is a little bit younger, and when she moved here, I was like, \u2018You have to watch \u201cSex and The City\u201d if you\u2019re going to live in Manhattan and be my friend.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Fay, 36, said she first watched the series in high school.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen I watched it in college, and my perception of it changed,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd now that I\u2019m married, I watch it for different reasons. I mean, New York in the aughts feels really good to see.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maddie Wilson, 25,\u00a0a data scientist, even met her friend Prisca Sielaff, 25, a law student, at the bar.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m running for the New York marathon, so this is good [training],\u201d Wilson said, adding that Samantha is her favorite character because \u201cshe just does what she wants.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Allison Devereux, 37, a seven-time New York City marathon runner, said, \u201cI\u2019ve run several marathons, but I\u2019ve never run anything quite this weird.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think I would run for Carrie \u2026 only for Samantha,\u201d she said. \u201cKim [Cattrall\u2019s character] was always the most shocking one, but now I think she\u2019s the most iconic, the best of the bunch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thek and Dauterman said they consider the bonds forged at the run club to mirror to the quartet depicted in the series, with New York-based runners oftentimes sharing tidbits about their love lives over cocktails.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow we are kind of up to date on their dating lives, so it\u2019s also a little catch-up in that way,\u201d Thek said. \u201cWe printed novelty condoms that have Kim Cattrall\u2019s face on it, and one of our new gal pals was like, \u2018Guess what? Last night, I used my Kim Cattrall condom.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a fun experiment of weirdos finding weirdos,\u201d Thek said. \u201cI do think the people that this appeals to are showing up.\u201d<\/p>\n

The duo already has their sights set on their next project, a Halloween-themed \u201c66.6KKyle Maclachlan,\u201d highlighting the actor\u2019s supporting role in \u201cSATC\u201d episodes on Tuesday nights.<\/p>\n

Thursday nights will feature an episode of \u201cTwin Peaks,\u201d another of his shows, Thek said.<\/p>\n
