AP<\/p>\n<p>Oz wants the ostriches transported to the US and has even offered to safeguard them at his Florida ranch. Radek \u2013 stock.adobe.com<\/p>\n<p>The latest development in the battle over the birds occurred last week when a<a href=\"https:\/\/nationalpost.com\/news\/canada\/a-court-says-cull-of-400-ostriches-in-b-c-can-proceed-here-what-you-should-know\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> court in Canada ruled <\/a>that the country\u2019s Food Inspection Agency could cull hundreds of ostriches to prevent the spread of <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/22\/us-news\/rfk-jr-blasts-offshore-windmill-farms-for-harming-marine-life-as-he-tries-to-save-whales-and-ostriches-make-no-economic-sense\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">H5NI avian flu.<\/a> The case is being appealed to Canada\u2019s highest court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow is it that all these birds survived this horrible illness,\u201d Oz said Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have secrets in them that we can learn from, and it makes perfect sense for America and Canada to cooperate on this \u2014 we can do all kinds of research,\u201d said Oz, a heart surgeon dubbed \u201cAmerica\u2019s Doctor\u201d by onetime devotee TV titan Oprah Winfrey and who now heads President Trump\u2019s Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.<\/p>\n<p>Oz wants the ostriches transported to the US and has even offered to safeguard them at his Florida ranch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe they\u2019ve got secrets that can help other birds [and] more importantly, humans,\u201d Dr. Mehmet Oz said Sunday on Catsimatidis\u2019s 770 WABC radio program AP<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the kind of thing you should do if you\u2019re truly a curious person. And the<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/25\/us-news\/rfk-jr-wants-every-american-to-use-wearable-health-data-collecting-technology\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> MAHA [Make America Healthy Again]<\/a> movement is about being curious,\u201d the doc said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA curious person would say, \u2018Can we learn from these birds?\u2019 The answer is yes. A courageous person would find a way to get them to America.
