Online records show Ricardo McCleary Jr. was released from jail Sunday, after posting a $10,000 bond.<\/p>\n
SAN ANTONIO \u2014 Residents of a north-side apartment complex say they are finally able to sleep peacefully after the arrest of a man accused of spying on a woman through her window.<\/p>\n
Police have charged 34-year-old Ricardo McCleary Jr. with stalking after a months-long investigation into prowler reports at the Platinum Shavano Oaks Apartments.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Carlos Gallardo, a resident at the complex, said the arrest brings a sense of security to the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow that he\u2019s caught, we feel a lot safer knowing he\u2019s not around,\u201d Gallardo said.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest affidavit, on May 8 around 5 a.m., a woman living at the complex reported seeing a man kneeling near her patio with a phone attached to a selfie stick, appearing to record her as she changed clothes.<\/p>\n
Fearing for her safety, the resident installed a surveillance camera. Over the following week, she captured video of the same man near her patio multiple times \u2014 including one instance where he attempted to climb over the railing.<\/p>\n
San Antonio police said the footage matched the description of a suspect they had been investigating in several prowler cases at the complex dating back to 2023.<\/p>\n
The arrest warrant also says, McCleary, was previously evicted from the property due to prior disturbances, and was arrested Saturday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank God he got caught,\u201d said another resident, who asked not to be identified.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Residents say over the past few months, they were on edge, feeling unsafe, and some scared to go out at night.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were all taking precautions and staying vigilant. Gallardo said. “Hopefully, this will be an example for others that are out there that might probably do the same.”<\/p>\n
