No injuries were reported by the officers or the geese. <\/p>\n

SAN ANTONIO \u2014 Baby geese and San Antonio Animal Care Services officers were rescued Sunday after a “slippery situation” at Woodlawn Lake.\u00a0<\/p>\n

ACS was originally called to a bird rescue after a resident reportedly saw a group of geese running around the dam spillway, looking trapped.\u00a0<\/p>\n

ACS officers were apparently “greeted” by the Mama goose with a “string of angry honks.” Apparently the mother was not happy about strangers scooping up her children.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So, the ACS officers quickly tied a rope off, got a net and rappelled down the embankment to retrieve the geese one by one in a carrier. \u00a0<\/p>\n

After grabbing all the geese, the ACS officers realized they were stuck due to their algae-covered boots and the steep, slick walls, so the ACS officers called San Antonio Park Police and San Antonio Fire for an “unusual” rescue.\u00a0<\/p>\n

SAPD and SAFD responded and set up an extension ladder, helping the ACS officers climb to safety with the geese.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No injuries were reported and the geese later waddled off into the lake with their mother.\u00a0<\/p>\n

ACS posted on Facebook<\/a> thanking SAPD and SAFD for their assistance in helping not only the geese but the ACS officers as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n
