\n\tNetflix<\/a> phenomenon KPop Demon Hunters<\/a> is getting its streaming sing-along version.<\/p>\n

\n\tDropping on the streaming platform tonight at midnight PT<\/a>, Netflix announced the news on social media with the caption: \u201cFOR THE FANS!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe animated film, produced in partnership with Sony Pictures Animation (of the Spider-Verse movies), has dominated both Nielsen<\/a> and Netflix streaming charts since its June 20 release, becoming the streamer\u2019s most-watched animated film in history<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tNews of the sing-along edition moving to streaming comes after its one-weekend-only screening event in theaters, which logged an estimated\u00a0$18M\u00a0two-day opening<\/a>, per industry sources reported by Deadline, topping horror hit Weapons to become the platform\u2019s first box office win.<\/p>\n

\n\tA particular driver for the movie\u2019s success is its resonance among kids and earworm tracks, with the KPop Demon Hunters (Soundtrack from the Netflix Film) holding strong at No. 2 on the Billboard 200<\/a> chart for the week of Aug. 16 \u2014 scoring more than 3 billion global streams to date.\u00a0The album also topped charts on Spotify, with the movie\u2019s fictional\u00a0boy band\u2019s song \u201cYour Idol\u201d surpassing real K-pop sensation BTS\u2019 \u201cDynamite.\u201d<\/a> (Just several days ago, Andy Samberg told Jimmy Kimmel Live! guest host Tiffany Haddish he is more obsessed with the movie than his eight-year-old daughter<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n\tCo-written and co-directed by\u00a0Maggie Kang<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Chris Appelhans<\/a>,\u00a0Kpop Demon Hunters\u00a0follows Rumi (Arden Cho<\/a>), Mira (May Hong<\/a>) and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo<\/a>), three young-adult pop stars in a group called Huntr\/x, whose ancient demon slayer lineage has them moonlighting as demon hunters when they aren\u2019t selling out stadiums and topping charts. When their biggest demonic enemy (Lee Byung-hun) encourages the formation of an equally popular K-pop boy band aimed at stealing the souls of their fans, the trio has to fight harder than ever to hold the demons at bay while keeping their friendship intact.\u00a0<\/p>\n
