{"id":173937,"date":"2025-08-25T09:06:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T09:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/173937\/"},"modified":"2025-08-25T09:06:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T09:06:09","slug":"aeg-foundation-awards-400000-los-angeles-business-journal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/173937\/","title":{"rendered":"AEG Foundation Awards $400,000 &#8211; Los Angeles Business Journal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p3\"><b>AEG Community Foundation<\/b>, the giving arm of the downtown-based sports and entertainment company, awarded $400,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations nationwide.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The foundation announced that the grants, ranging from $15,000 to $25,000, will be given to 20 organizations \u2013 of which more than half are based in the Los Angeles area. The funding will support an assortment of programs including those focused on education, the arts, and health and wellness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">This year marked the 25th for the grants and further highlights AEG\u2019s commitment to the communities that the entertainment conglomerate and its partners operate, said <b>Martha Saucedo<\/b>, chief external affairs officer at <b>AEG<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cWe take great pride in investing in the community,\u201d Saucedo said in an interview. The 20 awarded grants \u201cwill support the valuable work these nonprofits do every day to uplift and empower the people they serve.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Many of those selected were nominated by AEG employees who have either collaborated with or volunteered for in some capacity, Saucedo added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Among the grantees in the Los Angeles area include the <b>California Science Center Foundation<\/b>, <b>California Hospital Medical Center Foundation<\/b>,<b> Little Tokyo Service Center<\/b>,<b> Heart of Los Angeles<\/b>, <b>A Place Called Home<\/b> and the <b>YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>Norayma Cabot<\/b>, the chief executive of Historic South Central-based A Place Called Home, shared that the grant will help the organization to expand its music program for youth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cThis means we can continue to provide more exposure, access and support to our youth in south Los Angeles,\u201d Cabot said, adding that the organization will be able to support more than 200 youth from age eight to 22, as well as offer classes throughout the year. <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">California Hospital Medical Center Foundation has earmarked its\u00a0 grant for its after-school program. <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cThis isn\u2019t just funding,\u201d said <b>Susan Shum<\/b>, the chief philanthropy officer of the downtown-based Foundation. \u201cIt\u2019s an investment in our Hope Street (Margolis Family Center) families, supporting their success, creative outlets and healthier futures.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><b>State of uncertainty<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The grants come at a critical juncture for many nonprofits and foundations \u2013 particularly those locally located \u2013 as a state of uncertainty was heightened following federal legislation and executive orders signed by President <b>Donald Trump <\/b>seeking cuts in federal funding. <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Some organizations have seen federal grants and contracts paused or canceled all together, according to a report from the <b>Urban Institute<\/b>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cAEG\u2019s ongoing support \u2013 which they\u2019ve provided for decades \u2013 is instrumental in moments like these when federal funding for programs has created a sense of scarcity,\u201d said <b>Tony Brown<\/b>, chief executive of downtown-based Heart of Los Angeles. <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cIt\u2019s made the resources tighter \u2026 this is when you need those partnerships that have been with you over a long period of time and continue to be part of the community, as we need to be strong in these moments of crisis,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"AEG Community Foundation, the giving arm of the downtown-based sports and entertainment company, awarded $400,000 in grants to&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":173938,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5123],"tags":[58025,1582,276,2961,224,5337],"class_list":{"0":"post-173937","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-los-angeles","8":"tag-aeg","9":"tag-ca","10":"tag-california","11":"tag-la","12":"tag-los-angeles","13":"tag-losangeles"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@us\/115088613897162773","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/173937","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=173937"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/173937\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/173938"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=173937"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=173937"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=173937"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
