While backing Israel\u2019s right to self-defense, the analysis cited an \u201cunprecedented level of killing and injury of civilians,\u201d attacks on hospitals and the displacement of an estimated 90 percent of the population of the territory.<\/p>\n<p>Israel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/israel-eu-human-rights-review-genocide-palestine-gaza-politics\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">denies the allegations<\/a> and has blasted the review as \u201coutrageous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of Thursday\u2019s summit, officials had indicated that Kallas would determine whether there was sufficient support in the room before undertaking to present options for concrete actions.<\/p>\n<p>While tearing up the agreement would require the unanimous support of all member countries \u2014 with allies like Germany and Hungary vehemently opposed to the move \u2014 lesser measures, including slashing trade ties and sanctioning exports from illegal West Bank settlements, could theoretically be done with the support of a qualified majority of countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn all these cases, Europe loses credibility.
