The Downtown thoroughfare serves as a cultural corridor rich in art <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/attractions\/essential-museums-to-visit-in-los-angeles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">museums<\/a>, music venues and welcoming public spaces. As the Music Center\u2019s CEO and president, Rachel S. Moore, says, \u201cOnly on Grand Avenue can you move from the soaring notes of a symphony to the pulse of a dance party and experience the range from timeless works of art to the cutting edge of human-machine collaborations\u2014all within a single, walkable mile.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And one day a year, you can visit more than a dozen of these arts and culture destinations for free. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/things-to-do\/grand-ave-arts-all-access\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grand Ave Arts: All Access<\/a>, now in its ninth year, will return on October 25, offering special access to and programming in the officially designated \u201cGrand Avenue Cultural District\u201d for five hours, from 11am to 4pm. Expect performances, workshops, tours, family-friendly activities and more.<\/p>\n<p>This year, 13 arts organizations on Grand between Temple and Sixth Streets are participating in the cultural open house: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/museums\/the-broad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Broad<\/a>, Center Theatre Group, Colburn School, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/attractions\/grand-park\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gloria Molina Grand Park<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/music\/la-opera\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LA Opera<\/a>, the LA Phil, Los Angeles Central Library, Los Angeles Master Chorale, Metro Art (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/things-to-do\/los-angeles-metro-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the transit agency<\/a> now has a station just off Grand atop Bunker Hill), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/museums\/museum-of-contemporary-art-moca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MOCA<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/things-to-do\/the-music-center-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Music Center<\/a>, REDCAT and the upcoming\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/news\/the-worlds-first-ai-art-museum-is-opening-in-l-a-in-2025-heres-what-we-know-so-far-100224\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DATALAND<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"47c6c3bd-d939-1c35-f952-06a08eb3e878\" class=\"photo lazy inline\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"lazy-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1756154176_473_image.webp.webp\" alt=\"People outside the Broad participating in a workshop.\" data-caption=\"\" data-credit=\"Photograph: Michelle Shiers\" data-width-class=\"\" data-image-id=\"106310193\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\nPhotograph: Michelle Shiers&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Among the programming highlights are a singing workshop at the Colburn school and the chance for kids to conduct a live band; free LA Opera recitals\u00a0at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion; tours of the iconic Frank Gehry-designed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/music\/walt-disney-concert-hall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Walt Disney Concert Hall<\/a>; sugar-skull and Halloween-necklace workshops at the Central Library; multimedia self-portrait making at the Broad; and dance parties at MOCA and the Music Center\u2019s Jerry Moss Plaza.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re intrigued by DATALAND, the world\u2019s first AI art museum, which comes from the minds of media artist Refik Anadol and Efsun Erkilic. The innovative institution, located at\u00a0multi-use and Gehry-designed Downtown destination\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/news\/conrad-los-angeles-and-the-grand-la-are-bringing-bunker-hill-closer-to-its-pedestrian-friendly-potential-071322\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Grand LA<\/a>, is due to open later this year. But during Grand Ave Arts, you can see a pop-up exhibition that will offer a glimpse into the somewhat-controversial \u201cuniverse of human-AI creativity\u201d before the museum opens to the public.<\/p>\n<p>And at Gloria Molina Grand Park, the day marks the opening of its annual Downtown D\u00eda de los Muertos, a week-long celebration that includes family-friendly activities, a free film screening and\u00a0a\u00a0parade, as well as a display of 20 colorful altars in the park created by local artists and community organizations. On that Sunday, things will kick off with poetry, music and dance performances, as well as a sacred processional.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For a full schedule of the day\u2019s offerings, check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/grandavearts.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grand Ave Arts website<\/a>. And while the event is free to attend, RSVPs are appreciated.
