(WIFR) &#8211; A Chicago man arrested in Dixon is accused of fleeing from police and having a gun. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jaime Santiago, 59, of Chicago, is accused of:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list | article-list\">\n<li>Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, a Class 4 Felony<\/li>\n<li>Aggravated Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Peace Officer, a Class 4 Felony<\/li>\n<li>Possession of a Firearm Without Requisite FOID Card, a Class A Misdemeanor<\/li>\n<li>Possession of a Firearm Ammunition Without Requisite FOID Card, a Class A Misdemeanor<\/li>\n<li>No Valid Driver\u2019s License \u2013 Never Issued, a petty offense<\/li>\n<li>Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, a petty offense<\/li>\n<li>Speeding (21 to 25 mph over the limit), a petty offense<\/li>\n<li>Improper Lighting \u2013 one headlamp, a petty offense<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Chicago man faces gun charges in Lee County\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/UIODHW2TEZFHLKBKP5BC57MWD4.jpeg\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Chicago man faces gun charges in Lee County(Lee County Sheriff&#8217;s Office)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Around 9:40 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 24, a Lee County deputy was helping a Dixon officer find a vehicle that had fled from police. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The vehicle was seen on North Peoria Avenue near Dixon High School. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The deputy tried to pull the vehicle over as it was driving southbound on Peoria Avenue, but it accelerated to 55 mph in a 30 mph zone. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">When the vehicle made it to Second Street, it didn\u2019t stop at the stop sign. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">At Third Street, the vehicle blew through another stop sign and crashed into another vehicle. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Chicago man faces gun charges in Lee County \u2013 Map\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/QFQLSCSPFFBJRPUMLW2RXCOZAA.jpeg\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Chicago man faces gun charges in Lee County \u2013 Map(Google)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Deputies say a firearm was found during a search of the car. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office identifies the driver as Santiago. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He is released from custody with pretrial provisions in according with the Illinois SAFE-T Act. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WIFR.
