Details about a retail theft investigation that led to arrests in heists at several of Southern California Home Depot stores are expected Tuesday morning at a news conference in Ventura County.<\/p>\n
Nine people have been charged in what authorities described as the largest Home Depot theft case in the country. The investigation started in mid-January and included stores in Ventura and Los Angeles counties, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n
Charges of organized retail theft, grand theft, receiving stolen property and other crimes were part of a 34-page criminal complaint filed in Ventura County Superior Court.<\/p>\n
Thefts over several years amounted to about $10 million in losses.<\/p>\n
The news conference with county prosecutors, members of the sheriff’s department and police is scheduled for 9 a.m. in Camarillo.<\/p>\n
