Bruce Willis\u2019 wife, Emma Heming Willis, shared how the movie star\u2019s dementia battle has affected him.<\/p>\n
\u201cBruce is still very mobile. Bruce is in really great health, overall, it\u2019s just his brain that is failing him,\u201d the model explained in a new interview with ABC News\u2019 Diane Sawyer<\/a>, which airs in full Tuesday night.<\/p>\n Emma, 47, noted that her husband\u2019s language is \u201cgoing,\u201d but she and his loved ones have \u201clearned to adapt.\u201d \u201cWe have a way of communicating with him, which is just a different way,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Emma Heming Willis shared an emotional update on husband Bruce Willis\u2019 dementia diagnosis in a new interview. ABC<\/p>\n She sat down with Diane Sawyer for the televised interview. ABC<\/p>\n In 2022, Bruce, now 70, was diagnosed with aphasia<\/a>, a language disorder that affects a person\u2019s ability to speak and understand, but then doctors later determined that he had frontotemporal dementia<\/a>.<\/p>\n According to the Mayo Clinic<\/a>, the latter is a progressive neurological disorder that causes language problems, behavioral changes and mobility issues. It often begins within the ages of 40 to 65.<\/p>\n Emma told ABC News about some of the warning signs<\/a> Bruce\u2019s family saw before he was diagnosed.<\/p>\n Emma became emotional when talking about seeing glimpses of her husband\u2019s old self.
