{"id":17797,"date":"2025-06-27T01:36:08","date_gmt":"2025-06-27T01:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/17797\/"},"modified":"2025-06-27T01:36:08","modified_gmt":"2025-06-27T01:36:08","slug":"san-antonio-man-sentenced-to-30-years-for-bexar-county-aggravated-assault","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/17797\/","title":{"rendered":"San Antonio man sentenced to 30 years for Bexar County aggravated assault"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>BEXAR COUNTY, Texas<\/strong> \u2013 A San Antonio man convicted of an aggravated assault charge received an enhanced prison sentence due to his previous criminal history, the Bexar County District Attorney\u2019s Office announced on Thursday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Apolinar Rivera Jr., 39, was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years in prison for aggravated robbery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Rivera entered a no-contest plea in connection with a January 2022 incident when he and three others attempted to rob a woman in her vehicle at gunpoint.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">During the robbery, Rivera fired several shots into the vehicle, which injured the driver\u2019s thigh and torso.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Rivera was the first of the four individuals sentenced for their involvement. The other three suspects are set for sentencing, the district attorney\u2019s office said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The 30-year sentence was enhanced due to multiple prior convictions, according to the District Attorney\u2019s Office.
