Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer left the door open for the team to add a veteran quarterback while naming Joe Milton<\/a> as the backup.<\/p>\n The news came as the Cowboys announced that Will Grier was among the notable cuts as the team finalized the 53-man roster. It became clear during both training camp and preseason that Dallas was giving Milton every opportunity to be the team\u2019s backup quarterback.<\/p>\n Yet, Milton struggled with consistency throughout the preseason.
