President and CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry Danny Seiden said the research proves the Valley\u2019s economy is booming.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re having a lot of capital investment right now,\u201d Seiden told KTAR News 92.3 FM\u2019s Arizona\u2019s Morning News\u00a0on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
He said the only sluggish aspect of the business climate has been job creation.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut that lags a lot of that capital investment,\u201d Seiden said. \u201cSo you can look for some of those jobs to start reflecting in our jobs reports later in the year and early into the first quarter of 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n
What else does economic study say about Phoenix?<\/p>\n
The study also found that the Valley has seen balanced performance across housing, trade and employment, which sets it up for long-term resilience.<\/p>\n
Researchers also found that there was:<\/p>\n

- A 42% rise in gross domestic product.<\/li>\n
- A 12% increase in median earnings.<\/li>\n
- A 26% increase in total roadway miles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\u201cAs the study showed, things like infrastructure continues to attract people,\u201d Seiden said. \u201cAnd that\u2019s just not roads; it\u2019s also energy and water. And just the way Arizona\u2019s always planned for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, there\u2019s one economic category in which Phoenix isn\u2019t performing well, he added.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just have not built enough homes to meet the demand that we have, so our supply is not where it needs to be, so we need to build more,\u201d Seiden said.<\/p>\n
Legislation might be necessary to spur this growth.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of slowdown going on at local governments with zoning right now,\u201d he said. \u201cSo whatever we have to do to speed up on that, we will.\u201d<\/p>\n
