Top 10 countries with the highest internet users in 2025: <\/strong>The world is more connected than ever, with the internet serving as a crucial pillar of modern information in today\u2019s fast-paced digital era.<\/p>\n

Accounting for 67.9 per cent of the global population, there are 5.56 billion internet users worldwide as of February, according to Statista.<\/p>\n

Of the total internet users, 5.24 billion, or 63.9 per cent of the global population, were social media users.<\/p>\n

China boasts the highest number of internet users globally<\/a>, with 1.11 billion individuals connected, according to Statista.<\/p>\n

The country has more than triple the third-ranked United States, which has about 322 million internet users in 2025.<\/p>\n

However, despite having the most extensive online population, China\u2019s online penetration rate was still relatively low at 78 per cent.<\/p>\n

Notably, the global average internet penetration rate is approximately 67.9 per cent as of February 2025.<\/p>\n

India has the second-largest digital population(by internet users) in the world:<\/p>\n

India now has the world\u2019s second-largest online population<\/a>, with the DataReportal Digital 2025 report highlighting that the number of internet users in India has increased\u00a0by\u00a049 million, i.e. by 6.5 per cent between January 2024 and January 2025.<\/p>\n

As of February 2025, India has over 806 million internet users, as noted by Statista, thereby placing it just behind China (1.11 billion) and well ahead of the United States (322 million).<\/p>\n

However, India lags behind the internet penetration rate, with over 55 per cent remaining lower than the U.S. and China.<\/p>\n
