{"id":179447,"date":"2025-08-27T10:12:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T10:12:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/179447\/"},"modified":"2025-08-27T10:12:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T10:12:12","slug":"80-of-disabled-people-used-the-internet-in-2024-news-articles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/179447\/","title":{"rendered":"80% of disabled people used the internet in 2024 &#8211; News articles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">In 2024, 82.3% of people in the <a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php?title=Glossary:European_Union_(EU)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EU<\/a> with severe <a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php?title=Glossary:Disability\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disability<\/a> had used the internet in the past 12 months. Among those with moderate disability, the share was 89.0% and it was 95.2% for those with no disability. This means that the gap between those with severe disability and those without was 12.9 <a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php?title=Glossary:Percentage_point\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">percentage points<\/a> (pp).<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">Regarding some of the activities online, half of the people with severe disability (50.9%) used the internet to seek health-related information. For people with moderate disability, 59.1% sought health-related information, a little more than people without disability (58.4%).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">While 51.0% of those with severe disability used the internet for online banking, this was the case for 59.6% of those with moderate disability. However, for people with no disability, the share was 69.3%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/0fcdf278-92b1-cf9b-93a1-7331cf70a2eb\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Use of the internet by activity and level of disability in the EU, 2024.
