1.\u00a0Trump, Hochul talk cashless bail, federal troop deployment to N.Y. in phone call<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

Gov. Kathy Hochul revealed Tuesday that she spoke to President Donald Trump over the weekend about his\u00a0threats to deploy federal troops<\/a>\u00a0into New York City, trying to reassure him she\u2019s got crime under control.<\/p>\n

She says the president should ramp down talk about sending in troops. The president also spoke about his exchange with the governor while explaining why he\u2019d like to send in the National Guard to big cities \u2014 including New York.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Mamdani meets with House Minority Leader Jeffries in Brooklyn<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani met with Rep. Hakeem Jeffries in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn Tuesday, which is part of Jeffries\u2019 congressional district.<\/p>\n

Jeffries has yet to offer an endorsement in the mayoral race and has previously said he and Mamdani are \u201cin conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Coney Island community sounds off on proposed casino<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

Officials who will decide the fate of a proposed casino in Coney Island heard from business leaders and community members Tuesday during a packed public hearing inside a local YMCA.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had over 500 stakeholder meetings, 10,000 local signatures, 600 letters of support from NYCHA residents,\u201d Robert Cornegy, a former\u00a0City Council Member and founder of 610 Collective, said. \u201cThis is a community-backed proposal.\u201d<\/p>\n
