She was in Okinawa, Japan, when this happened.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She doesn\u2019t know it yet, but she\u2019s about to pick up the world\u2019s deadliest shell that leads to full paralysis in minutes,&#8221; the text on the video says.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/travel\/beaches-most-shark-attacks-americans-pay-tribute-jaws-activist\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>BEACHES WITH MOST SHARK ATTACKS AS AMERICANS PAY TRIBUTE TO &#8216;JAWS&#8217; AND ACTIVIST WEIGHS IN<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The woman picked up a cone <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/science\/wild-nature\/fish\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">snail shell<\/a> with coils spotted in brown and white.<\/p>\n<p>Cone snails are one of the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/science\/wild-nature\/mammals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">venomous animals<\/a> on Earth, with approximately 600-700 species of slugs in existence, according to the Ocean Conservancy (OC).<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/deadly-cone-shell-1.gif\" alt=\"deadly snail cone shell\" width=\"2025\" height=\"06\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>A viral TikTok shows a woman&#8217;s panic after she picked up a beautiful shell like the one shown above \u2014 but the shell could have housed a highly venomous cone snail inside it.\u00a0 (iStock)<\/p>\n<p>Most venom in the snails will &#8220;cause tingling or numbness at the injection site, then spread to the impacted limb and eventually the entire body,&#8221; according to OC.<\/p>\n<p>In a follow-up video that garnered millions of likes, the woman shared that she did research on the shell and its usual inhabitant, finding out even &#8220;worse&#8221; information about it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/lifestyle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><strong>For more Lifestyle articles, visit foxnews.com\/lifestyle<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My brain kept convincing me that I had been stung and just didn\u2019t realize it. By the fourth day of panic, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/lifestyle\/relationships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">my husband<\/a> was sick of reassuring me I was indeed going to live,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Cone snails are marine predators.
