The Nov. 4 election won\u2019t feature many candidates on its ballot, but Bexar County voters are headed toward a major vote<\/a> on funding for a new Spurs arena<\/a> and upgrades to county-owned facilities on the East Side.<\/p>\n

Both the arena and East Side would be paid for by voter-approved taxes on hotel rooms and rental cars, though they\u2019ll appear separately on the ballot<\/a>. The sample ballot for the November election hasn\u2019t been released yet, but the Bexar County Elections Department released a list this week of what to expect.<\/p>\n

On the same ballot,\u00a0Texans are being asked to weigh in this fall on 17 state constitutional amendments<\/a> driven by the Republican-led legislature.<\/p>\n

East Central ISD<\/a> and Judson ISD<\/a> are asking voters to approve tax rate increases, and North East ISD<\/a> is holding a nearly half-billion dollar bond election. <\/p>\n

Some smaller municipalities around Bexar County elect local leaders to their mayor and city council seats in odd-numbered years, including Sandy Oaks, Windcrest<\/a>, Schertz<\/a> and Converse<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The San Antonio River Authority<\/a> will also elect several positions.<\/p>\n

The deadline for municipalities to put measures on the Nov. 4 ballot was Aug. 18. <\/p>\n

Oct. 6 is the deadline to register to vote<\/a> in the Nov. 4 election. Early voting runs Oct. 20 through Oct. 31.<\/p>\n

Most major elections \u2014 for governor, Congress, the state legislature and county offices \u2014 are held in November of even-numbered years, so they won\u2019t appear on the ballot until November 2026. <\/p>\n

Those races will start heating up soon through, with candidate filing opening just days after this Nov. 4 election.<\/p>\n
