Every year, Google creates a new statue to commemorate each Android release and, for Android 16, it\u2019s a celebration of Material 3 Expressive in the form of a mini merry-go-round.<\/p>\n
Since Android dropped its yearly dessert themes, the yearly statues have become a bit less exciting, but they\u2019re still pretty unique. Lately, they\u2019ve been taking the form of slightly more useful objects. Android 13\u2019s \u201cstatue\u201d was a swingset<\/a>. For Android 14, Google went back to those dessert roots with an Upside Down Cake reference<\/a>, but then returned to 13\u2019s whimsy for Android 15 with \u201cThe Bot\u201d on a bench holding a vanilla ice cream cone<\/a>.<\/p>\n \t\tAndroid 13 swingset<\/p>\n \t\tAndroid 15 bench<\/p>\n This year, Google is again following up with a whimsical, but semi-practical \u201cstatue\u201d for Android 16.<\/p>\n A custom merry-go-round \u2013 the little version \u2013 was constructed with \u201cThe Bot\u201d on board and a few other seats around it with Material 3 Expressive UI shapes.
