OGDEN, Utah (ABC4<\/a><\/strong>) \u2014 Parts of northern Utah experienced scattered showers and thunderstorms with roads flooding and disrupting morning commute.<\/p>\n

Near Washington Blvd and Harrisville Rd in Ogden, traffic was reduced to a single lane, but officials have said it has since been reopened.<\/p>\n

According to the Utah Department of Transportation, both directions of Washington Blvd in Ogden and State St in Clearfield were impacted due to standing water, but Ogden City officials confirmed everything is now clear. Second Street is still closed because of construction, not because of the rain.<\/p>\n

Ogden City Communications Director Mike McBride claimed the city has ongoing infrastructure projects year round and they \u201care all part of a master plan to make sure the city functions the way that it should.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to McBride, the infrastructure performed exactly how it\u2019s designed, but the unusually large amount of rain in such a short burst of time made the water drains back up.<\/p>\n

McBride warned, \u201cIf you see standing water, folks should slow down, avoid the area if possible, and of course, always exercise kindness with each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Avoid areas that have standing water and contact Public Services with any concerns at 801-629-8271.<\/p>\n

According to ABC4\u2019s 4Warn Weather Team<\/a><\/strong>, more scattered showers and thunderstorms<\/a><\/strong> are on deck for northern Utah, but they\u2019ll be more isolated in southern Utah.<\/p>\n

Wet weather and flood threat linger <\/a><\/p>\n

In Washington County, the Virgin River Narrows and all slot canyons in Zion National Park are closed<\/a><\/strong> because the forecasted rainfall due to flash flooding risks.<\/p>\n
