This report will provide a data-based snapshot of the economic, civic and demographic roles immigrants play across the Philadelphia region.\n<\/p>\n<p>With Philadelphia\u2019s status as a \u201csanctuary city,\u201d this event will explore how immigration influences <a href=\"https:\/\/whyy.org\/articles\/philadelphia-population-growth-immigrants-census\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the city\u2019s population trends<\/a>, workforce dynamics, and community life. The gathering will also examine how shifts in immigration patterns could affect the city\u2019s population, workforce and services.\n  <\/p>\n<p>Moderated by Maiken Scott, host of <a href=\"https:\/\/whyy.org\/programs\/the-pulse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WHYY\u2019s The Pulse<\/a>, the event will feature several panelists from the public and community sectors, who will share on-the-ground insights into the region\u2019s challenges and opportunities. Speakers include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montgomerycountypa.gov\/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=4619\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nelly Jiminez-Arevalo<\/a>, executive director of the newly created Montgomery County Office of Immigrant Affairs, and <a href=\"https:\/\/delcopa.gov\/electedofficials\/dr-monica-taylor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Monica Taylor<\/a>, chair of the Delaware County Council.\n<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/support.whyy.org\/page\/87371\/event\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">event will be free and open to the public<\/a> with refreshments provided.
