[Video still: Provident]<\/p>\n<p><strong>The annexation of 900 acres in south Grand Prairie has been approved by the City of Grand Prairie to boost the development of Goodland, a 5,000-acre master-planned community from Dallas-based Provident, a privately held real estate and investment firm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Provident said the 900 acres being annexed are a sizable portion of its total Goodland development. The city of Grand Prairie called the annexation \u201ca significant milestone\u201d in advancing its own long-term vision for growth, connectivity, and quality of life.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-278692\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Goodland_videostill11-970.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"970\" height=\"544\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-278692\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rendering of Goodland master-planned community. [Video still: Provident]<\/p>\n<p>Provident said the annexation paves the way for full city services\u2014including police, fire protection, water, and sewer\u2014to be extended to the newly incorporated portion of Goodland. The company said the area will serve as a cornerstone of the community\u2019s upcoming phases, offering mixed-use residential development and several hundred acres reserved for a community hub and future town center.<\/p>\n<p>The city said that portions of this annexation are planned to include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Montessori school<\/li>\n<li>A church<\/li>\n<li>Wedding and event venue<\/li>\n<li>Coffee shop<\/li>\n<li>Diverse mix of \u201cattainable and higher-density homes\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Dedicated \u201cactive adult\u201d neighborhood(s)<\/li>\n<li>Regional parks &amp; hike\/bike trails<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese elements aim to foster a walkable, amenity-rich community that supports a variety of lifestyles and price points, further expanding the offerings within Goodland,\u201d Yowell said.<\/p>\n<p>Provident said that a dedicated area central to the long-term vision of Goodland will be developed into a future town center. It\u2019s being envisioned as a \u201cconnected core\u201d with civic and recreational uses planned in collaboration with the city.<\/p>\n<p>The city said the planned amenities are designed to create a walkable, amenity-rich community that supports a variety of lifestyles and price points, further expanding opportunities for current and future residents of the city.<\/p>\n<p>Key thoroughfare to open by end of 2025<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-278694\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Goodland_videostill9-970.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"970\" height=\"543\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-278694\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rendering of Goodland master-planned community. [Video still: Provident]<\/p>\n<p>Provident said the driving force behind the annexation and development\u2019s momentum is the upcoming completion of Goodland Parkway, a major thoroughfare scheduled to open by the end of the year. It will provide critical access into the heart of Goodland and connect to future commercial, retail, and civic services, the company said.<\/p>\n<p>Goodland Parkway links Highway 360 and Highway 287, with future extensions planned to reach Highway 67 at the southern boundary of Provident\u2019s massive land holdings and Grand Prairie\u2019s city limits.
