In September 2024, Bobbie\u2019s Southern Kitchen<\/b>, also known as Bobbie\u2019s Cafe, opened a new location in the Embassy Oaks shopping center on San Antonio\u2019s North Side. <\/p>\n

This expansion came as their longtime spot on South Flores Street closed \u2014 part of a plan to eventually reopen in a new South Side location closer to their original roots.<\/p>\n

New location near original home<\/p>\n

Nearly a year later, that plan is moving forward. Co-owners Ana and Greg Ferris<\/b> have been in talks to acquire the former Neptune\u2019s Seafood House building on Goliad Road. On Aug. 6, they announced that they had officially received the keys to the new storefront.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got the keys and went straight to Home Depot to buy supplies to clean, so that\u2019s what we\u2019re doing today \u2014 cleaning,\u201d Ana Ferris shared. \u201cI have seven storage units filled with stuff I bought at auction, and I\u2019m ready to move in.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Neptune\u2019s Seafood House location has been inactive since 2021, and after cleaning and repairs, Bobbie\u2019s plans to open by Oct. 1, 2025<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Returning to the community<\/p>\n

The new Bobbie\u2019s Southern Kitchen, located at 1922 Goliad Road<\/b>, is just a short drive from their former South Flores home. This move brings the restaurant closer to the loyal customer base on the Southeast Side.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love the South Side, and I\u2019m so excited to be there with my community. You can tell when a South sider walks in \u2014 they come in and hug me,\u201d Ana Ferris said. <\/p>\n

What to expect<\/p>\n

Once open, the new Bobbie\u2019s will offer a menu and hours similar to those of their Embassy Oaks location, serving the beloved Southern-style dishes customers know and love.<\/p>\n

Bobbie\u2019s Southern Kitchen\u2019s return is more than just a reopening, it\u2019s a heartfelt homecoming for a family and restaurant deeply connected to San Antonio\u2019s culture and community.<\/p>\n
