The band has since capitalized on the virality, staging intimate live shows in backyards and unconventional venues (e.g. a gas station and a farm) across the country. <\/p>\n
In May, frontman Tyson Ritter told Vulture the house party tour was spurred by a bad gig in Los Angeles where the band played to a room full of industry folks. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe guest lists on those things end up turning into a bunch of suits,\u201d he said. \u201cSo we played this pop-up at USC and tapped into a crowd that wanted to come to a free show. The night was so cinematic.\u201d <\/p>\n
Later in the interview, Ritter said \u201cwe\u2019re fired up on new music more than we\u2019ve ever been, because now there\u2019s actually some resonance, soul, and an energy that\u2019s very feral from being kept in a burlap sack for over a decade.\u201d <\/p>\n
