Edward Coristine, the 19-year-old nicknamed \u201cBig Balls\u201d<\/a> who was working in the Department of Government Efficiency, has landed a new role at the Social Security Administration.<\/p>\n

Coristine, who was hired by Elon Musk to join the DOGE team<\/a>, recently left the White House but a Social Security Administration spokesperson confirmed he has since joined the agency as a special government employee.<\/p>\n

\u201cEdward Coristine joined the Social Security Administration<\/a> this week as a special government employee,\u201d spokesperson Stephen McGraw told WIRED<\/a>. \u201cHis work will be focused on improving the functionality of the Social Security website and advancing our mission of delivering more efficient service to the American people.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear when Coristine started his new role.<\/p>\n

Sources told the outlet that Coristine \u201clooked nervous\u201d and \u201calmost embarrassed\u201d after being spotted at the agency\u2019s Woodlawn headquarters in Maryland this week.<\/p>\n

He was seen with DOGE engineer Aram Moghaddassi, another Musk hire who is working for X and Neuralink.<\/p>\n

\u201cCoristine looked nervous, almost embarrassed,\u201d the source told WIRED. \u201cAram was on the phone with someone \u2026 then said \u2018Yes I\u2019m with him right now,\u2019 gesturing to Big Balls.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Coristine\u2019s appointment at the agency follows a recent report that Musk and allies insisted on giving a 21-year-old former Silicon Valley intern sweeping access<\/a> to personal data on hundreds of millions of Americans at the Social Security Administration.<\/p>\n

Musk ordered 21-year-old Akash Bobba, a former Palantir intern who\u2019d been hired as a programmer for DOGE, be granted access to Social Security data without proper training so he could run his own analysis, The New York Times reported.<\/p>\n

When the acting commissioner, Michelle King, declined to do so, Musk had her fired and replaced with Leland Dudek. Dudek, brought back from a suspension on the DOGE team\u2019s recommendation, got Bobba the access.<\/p>\n

Coristine was first selected to work for the Tesla boss<\/a> as a technologist, and received full-time staff status at the General Services Administration last month.<\/p>\n

Coristine became well known online and among Musk\u2019s immense fanbase publicly after he was paraded on Fox News alongside his boss. \u201cWho is Big Balls?\u201d host Jesse Watters<\/a> asked on his program, surrounded by DOGE members and supporters at a huge oval conference table.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am,\u201d piped up 19-year-old DOGE staff member Edward Coristine. \u201cThat should be obvious,\u201d Musk quipped to laughter.<\/p>\n

Coristine claimed to have caught the eye of the world\u2019s richest man after simply changing his name on LinkedIn to \u201cBig Balls.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to his brief stint as a government employee, the teenage high school graduate worked at Neuralink<\/a> for several months and founded a company called Tesla.Sexy LLC in 2021, according to WIRED.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Fox News, Coristine stated that while working in the State Department\u2019s Bureau of Diplomatic Technology, he used \u201ccomputer stuff\u201d as he claimed to ferret out \u201cfraud and waste,\u201d the old mantra of his former boss.<\/p>\n
