In Carbon County, an event will showcase the region\u2019s coal mining history, while Scranton\u2019s annual Italian festival will be held in Lackawanna County.<\/p>\n<p><b>La Festa Italiana<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Italian flags, voices like Frank Sinatra and the smell of fresh tomato sauce will be hard to miss this weekend in Scranton.<\/p>\n<p>Kicking off Friday evening, La Festa Italiana is a rare opportunity to try pizza, pasta and other local specialties all in the same place. Pizzerias will include Old Forge favorites, including Revello\u2019s, Cusumano\u2019s and Arcaro and Genell\u2019s. <a href=\"https:\/\/lafestaitaliana.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Vendor-Map-2025-834x1024.png\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Click here<\/a> for a full list of vendors and a map.<\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"Image\" alt=\"Scranton's chapter of UNICO, a national Italian American service organization, makes porketta and hosts a 5K race as part of La Festa Italiana.\"  width=\"880\" height=\"660\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1756374013_172_\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Facebook<\/p>\n<p>\/<\/p>\n<p>La Festa Italiana <\/p>\n<p> Scranton&#8217;s chapter of UNICO, a national Italian American service organization, makes porketta and hosts a 5K race as part of La Festa Italiana.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday will begin with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lafestaitaliana.org\/events\/\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Captain James R. Minicozzi Memorial Race<\/a> 5K 1-mile walk hosted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UNICOScranton\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">UNICO Scranton<\/a>, the local chapter of the Italian American service organization.
