Hilary Duff looked back at the record that launched her on an \u201cepic adventure\u201d on Wednesday. Marking its 22nd anniversary, the singer and actress took to social media to celebrate the release of her second studio album, Metamorphosis.<\/p>\n
In a caption posted alongside a series of throwback photos from the early aughts, Duff wrote, \u201cClearly I had to go digging around the internet for pictures from this time as I\u2019m not sure camera phones even existed.\u201d The artist, whose Y2K looks were wildly popular at the time, joked, \u201cSadly all my hairstyles ARE very documented.\u201d<\/p>\n
More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n She called this era in her career \u201ca huge change in my being,\u201d adding that she \u201cwas embarking on something I had no idea would make such an impact on peoples lives, and mine.\u201d Duff said that although she doesn\u2019t think Metamorphosis \u201cdoesn\u2019t hold the emotional depth I look for today,\u201d she knows her \u201c14\/15 year old self meant every word.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt sure as hell also landed on people at the right moment in time and set me off on a pretty epic adventure,\u201d she said. \u201cI remember some of my first shows being in a skate park in San Jose, and very shortly after, stepping out on stage in arenas.\u201d Before signing off, she thanked fans for \u201cshowing up the way that you did,\u201d and teased, \u201cTo be continued\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n Following her cryptic sign-off on Wednesday, fans reveled in the possibility of new music and hopes of a tour. In an X post<\/a>, @sarahstarrdust wrote, \u201cis hilary duff doing a metamorphosis anniversary tour?? because that would legitimately heal me.\u201d Another X user, @jdonohue91, remarked<\/a>, \u201cHilary Duff literally never acknowledges album anniversaries and now she has posted about two of them this year! Music comeback incoming!!\u201d<\/p>\n Duff last released an album in 2015 with Breathe In.
