SAN ANTONIO – A man was killed and a woman wounded in a shooting early Thursday at an East Side motel, the authorities said, in what investigators are describing as a domestic dispute turned deadly.<\/p>\n
The episode unfolded just before 1 a.m. at the Knights Inn on East Houston Street near Interstate 10. <\/p>\n
Police said an argument between the pair escalated when the woman pulled a gun and shot the man several times. In the process, she accidentally shot herself in the arm.<\/p>\n
According to investigators, the woman later told officers she opened fire after the man assaulted her. A relative drove her from the motel to a house on Carolina Street, where she called for help.<\/p>\n
Officers discovered the man dead inside the motel room. The woman was taken to the hospital in stable condition.<\/p>\n
Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the shooting.
