{"id":182930,"date":"2025-08-28T19:10:21","date_gmt":"2025-08-28T19:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/182930\/"},"modified":"2025-08-28T19:10:21","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T19:10:21","slug":"gas-prices-predicted-to-be-lower-than-last-going-into-labor-day-aaa-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/182930\/","title":{"rendered":"Gas prices predicted to be lower than last going into Labor Day, AAA says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2013 Labor Day is coming up next Monday, and gas prices are projected to be lower than last year, according to AAA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Going into the holiday weekend, gas prices in San Antonio are currently at $2.89 per gallon, a nickel less than in 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Doug Shupe, corporate communications manager for AAA, said prices have risen in the last month due to families taking trips before summer ends.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Shuper highlighted San Antonio as a popular travel destination, which could also result in a slight increase at the pump for both locals and tourists. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">However, prices are predicted to drop as gasoline demand dips and America transitions into winter gasoline, which is cheaper.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Some viewers in the San Antonio area have reached out to KSAT with concerns that prices this summer have been fluctuating at gas stations, seemingly at random. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Viewers have reported noticing a pattern where prices rise at the beginning of the week, drop incrementally throughout the week and then rise again the following week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Shupe said that, as gas stations are allowed to set their own prices, they often use this as a business strategy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cSometimes retailers will discount their gas prices to encourage consumers to visit those gas stations and purchase items from their convenience stores,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Other stations will raise prices in high-demand locations, such as near interstate highways. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Shupe recommends not settling for less if you\u2019re finding yourself paying more than you would like for gasoline.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cBottom line is, shop around for the cheapest gas prices,\u201d he said. \u201cDon\u2019t just go to that one gas station because it\u2019s easy to get to.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">You can also download a gas price tracker app. <a href=\"https:\/\/cluballiance.aaa.com\/public-affairs\/gas-information\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/cluballiance.aaa.com\/public-affairs\/gas-information\"><b>AAA<\/b><\/a> has one, as does <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gasbuddy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.gasbuddy.com\/\"><b>Gasbuddy<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2025 by KSAT &#8211;
