\n\tBecause she auditioned, Amanda Seyfried<\/a> has been changed for good.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Oscar nominee recently opened up about the audition<\/a> process for Wicked<\/a>, noting she went in \u201csix times\u201d for a part in Jon M. Chu<\/a>\u2018s big screen adaptation of the Broadway<\/a> musical, having previously revealed that she auditioned to play Glinda while filming Hulu\u2019s The Dropout. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m in that privileged spot where I just don\u2019t have to [audition]. But I like, of course, I talked about this a lot. I auditioned like six times for Wicked because that had to be really just right,\u201d she recalled on Backstage\u2019s In the Envelope<\/a> podcast. \u201cAnd I loved it. I was busy. I barely had time to do it, but I made it work.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSeyfried added, \u201cI worked my ass off for years and years and years on that music. I\u2019m competitive with myself in a really healthy way, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAriana Grande<\/a> and Cynthia Erivo<\/a> ultimately landed the leads as Glinda and Elphaba, which they reprise in the forthcoming second installment Wicked: For Good<\/a>, which premieres Nov. 21 in theaters.<\/p>\n

\n\tSeyfried, who previously starred in Mamma Mia! (2008) and Les Mis\u00e9rables (2012), explained why she wasn\u2019t put off by the audition process. \u201cI actually love it, because it\u2019s scary as hell, but I love getting notes and shifting my performance,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s like a puzzle for me. I love the puzzle and I love the competition,\u201d said Seyfried. \u201cAnd I love waiting for the phone call with the feedback from the casting director.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter Grande and Erivo\u2019s casting was announced<\/a> in 2021, Seyfried has since praised the movie as \u201cfantastic,\u201d telling People<\/a> in December: \u201cIt\u2019s an extravaganza, which is what she [Grande] does really well. And [my kids] have been playing the soundtrack nonstop.
