The company says its new MAI-Voice-1 speech model can generate a minute\u2019s worth of audio in under one second on just one GPU, while MAI-1-preview \u201coffers a glimpse of future offerings inside Copilot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">You can try MA1-Voice-1 out for yourself <a href=\"https:\/\/copilot.microsoft.com\/labs\/audio-expression\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on Copilot Labs<\/a>, where you can enter what you want the AI model to say, as well as change its voice and style of speaking. In addition to this model, Microsoft introduced MAI-1-preview, which it says it trained on around 15,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs. It\u2019s built for users in need of an AI model capable of following instructions and \u201cproviding helpful responses to everyday queries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Microsoft AI chief Mustafa Suleyman said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/24314821\/microsoft-ai-ceo-mustafa-suleyman-google-deepmind-openai-inflection-agi-decoder-podcast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">during an episode of Decoder<\/a> last year that the company\u2019s internal AI models aren\u2019t focused on enterprise use cases. \u201cMy logic is that we have to create something that works extremely well for the consumer and really optimize for our use case,\u201d Suleyman said. \u201cSo, we have vast amounts of very predictive and very useful data on the ad side, on consumer telemetry, and so on. My focus is on building models that really work for the consumer companion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The company plans on rolling out MAI-1-preview for certain text use cases in its Copilot AI assistant, which currently relies on OpenAI\u2019s large language models.
