(File photo courtesy of Icon Sportswire)<\/p>\n<p>The 46th annual Holiday Bowl will be played Jan. 2 at Snapdragon Stadium between teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference and current or former teams from the Pac-12.<\/p>\n<p>Sports San Diego, the organization that runs <a href=\"https:\/\/holidaybowl.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the game<\/a>, said during Thursday\u2019s announcement that it would be the first time the annual bowl game has been played in January. <\/p>\n<p>Kickoff for the game is 5 p.m. It will air on Fox.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe absolutely love this game date and kickoff time,\u201d said Mark Neville, CEO for Sports San Diego. \u201cThe date makes it easy for fans to follow their teams to San Diego and spend several days in what we feel is the best bowl destination in America. The Friday night primetime kickoff enables us to maximize television viewership for Fox\u2019s broadcast of the game \u2026<\/p>\n<p>He also noted that local fans will be able to enjoy the festivities on the tail end of the holiday season, calling the date \u201ca win all around.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Syracuse beat Washington State 52-35 in the third-highest scoring game in Holiday Bowl history.<\/p>\n<p>The week of events leading up to the game include the Bowl Bash. a downtown street party, the Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade and the Holiday Bowl Game Day 5K.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets will be made available to annual bowl game ticket holders before going on sale to the public in September.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Fans in town for the 2024 Holiday Bowl showed their support for the Washington State Cougars.
