\n\tHeidi Gardner<\/a>\u00a0is the\u00a0latest cast member<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0Saturday Night Live<\/a>\u00a0to leave the show, a source tells\u00a0Rolling Stone.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe comedian will\u00a0exit\u00a0the NBC show after eight years, joining a\u00a0list of three\u00a0<\/a>other castmates who are not returning for Season 51.\u00a0Variety<\/a> and several outlets also confirmed the news on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\n\tGardner has yet to address her departure from the show. She joined SNL as a featured player for Season 43 and was promoted to become part of the main cast in 2019. The comedian seemed to allude to her departure on a podcast with Craig Ferguson. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI will say the only thing that I\u2019ve started to feel a little bit is just sketch fatigue, or idea fatigue,\u201d she said on Joy<\/a>. \u201cAt this point, after doing Groundlings and\u00a0SNL\u00a0for so long, I\u2019m like, \u2018I\u2019ve written a lot of sketches.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe comedian participated in more sketches than any other cast member in Season 49, and was known for her \u201cWeekend Update\u201d character, teen movie critic Bailey Gismert. She was the longest-tenured female cast member during Season 50. On the show, Gardner played Michael Jordan\u2019s security, she broke character during a Beavis and Butt-Head skit<\/a> with Ryan Gosling, and even played Kim Kardashian.<\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier this week, Devon Walker and Emil Wakim shared that they were departing the cast, while reports confirmed Michael Longfellow\u2019s exit earlier on Thursday. \u201cI won\u2019t be returning to SNL next year,\u201d Wakim wrote on Instagram<\/a> about his exit. \u201cIt was a gut-punch of a call to get, but I\u2019m so grateful for my time there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn his own post announcing his exit<\/a>, Walker said, \u201cMe and the show did three years together, and sometimes it was really cool. Sometimes it was toxic as hell. But we did what we made the most of what it was, even amidst all of the dysfunction. We made a fucked up lil family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA rep for Gardner did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone\u2018s request for comment.<\/p>\n

\n\tSNL\u00a0creator\u00a0Lorne Michaels<\/a>\u00a0said in a recent interview\u00a0that fans can expect major moves leading up to the premiere of\u00a0the new season on Oct. 4.
