Center <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/f\/fallta01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-08-28_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Tacko Fall<\/a><\/strong> and guards <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jacksfr01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-08-28_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Frank Jackson<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/simpsza01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-08-28_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Zavier Simpson<\/a><\/strong> have reportedly joined the CBA team.<\/p>\n<p>Fall, a 7\u20196\u2033 big man who appeared in 37 NBA games for the Celtics and Cavaliers from 2019-22, is no stranger to China\u2019s basketball league, having spent time with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers and Nanjing Monkey Kings since he last played in the NBA. He also had a stint with the New Zealand Breakers last season.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson has also played in the CBA with the Shanxi Loongs and Jiangsu Dragons, while Simpson will be playing in the country for the first time after spending last season in Romania. Jackson, a 2017 second-round pick, has appeared in 214 NBA regular season games, but has been out of the league since March 2023. Simpson made seven appearances for the Grizzlies on a pair of 10-day contracts near the end of the 2023\/24 season after playing four times for Oklahoma City in \u201921\/22.<\/p>\n<p>Here are more odds and ends from around the basketball world:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ESPN is making a change to its top broadcasting team for the 2025\/26 NBA season and 2026 NBA Finals, according to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6581644\/2025\/08\/28\/doris-burke-tim-legler-nba-finals-espn-broadcast\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Andrew Marchand of The Athletic<\/a>, who reports that <strong><strong>Tim Legler<\/strong><\/strong> will replace <strong>Doris Burke<\/strong> alongside <strong>Mike Breen<\/strong> and <strong><strong>Richard Jefferson<\/strong><\/strong>. However, Burke has signed a multiyear extension with ESPN and will be on ESPN\u2019s No. 2 NBA broadcast team with play-by-play man <strong>Dave Pasch<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/46082108\/nba-predictions-2025-26-expert-picks-east-west-conference-standings\" rel=\"noopener\">An ESPN panel of NBA experts<\/a> is forecasting the <strong>Cavaliers<\/strong> to win an Eastern Conference-high 59 games in 2025\/26, with the <strong>Knicks<\/strong> (54-28), <strong>Magic<\/strong> (50-32), <strong>Hawks<\/strong> (47-35), and <strong>Pistons<\/strong> (47-35) rounding out the top five. ESPN\u2019s projections have the <strong>Bucks<\/strong>, <strong>Celtics<\/strong>, <strong>Sixers<\/strong>, <strong>Heat<\/strong>, and <strong>Pacers<\/strong> battling for the final playoff spot and play-in seeding. Over in the West, ESPN\u2019s forecast calls for the <strong>Thunder<\/strong> (64 wins) to repeat as the conference\u2019s No. 1 seed, followed by the <strong>Rockets<\/strong> (54-28), <strong>Nuggets<\/strong> (53-29), <strong>Timberwolves<\/strong> (51-31), <strong>Clippers<\/strong> (50-32), and <strong>Lakers<\/strong> (50-32).<\/li>\n<li>Unsurprisingly, in a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/46079120\/nba-predictions-2025-26-expert-picks-predictions-western-eastern-conference-finals-champions\" rel=\"noopener\">separate story<\/a> predicting next season\u2019s conference and NBA champions, ESPN\u2019s panel picks the <strong>Cavaliers<\/strong> and <strong>Thunder<\/strong> as the favorites to meet in the NBA Finals, with Oklahoma City repeating as champions.
