Rep. Jimmy Gomez, D-Los Angeles, introduced the legislation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The legislation would prohibit federal agencies from using military drones for surveillance of people protesting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">It would also require the president to report any drone use to Congress.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">City Councilwoman Eunisses Hernandez introduced a resolution Wednesday in support of the legislation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">If approved by the City Council, the resolution would be added the city&#8217;s 2025-26 federal legislative program &#8211; formally establishing Los Angeles&#8217; support for the bill known as &#8220;Ban Military Drones Spying on Civilians Act.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">City News Service contributed to this report.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2025 KABC Television, LLC.
