Emma Heming Willis, the wife of legendary actor Bruce Willis<\/strong><\/a>, has shared a heartbreaking update on the star as he continues to deal with his dementia treatment. <\/p>\n

What is the latest Bruce Willis health update? <\/p>\n

Speaking to ABC in a new special titled Emma & Bruce Willis: The Unexpected Journey, Willis\u2019 wife revealed that Bruce was now living in a nearby, separate, one-story home as part of his dementia treatment. <\/p>\n

Emma said the decision to move Willis was \u201cone of the hardest\u201d she had to face as his caregiver. However, with Willis now able to receive round-the-clock care, she believes it would be what Bruce wanted for their family. <\/p>\n

\u201cI knew, first and foremost, Bruce would want that for our daughters,\u201d Willis said (via Rolling Stone<\/a>). \u201cYou know, he would want them to be in a home that was more tailored to their needs, not his needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Heming Willis also opened up about the decision in ways it related to her and the couple\u2019s two daughters, aged 13 and 11. She noted that she was worried loud noises or other things would trigger Bruce, and wasn\u2019t sure if parents would feel comfortable having playdates at their homse as a result. <\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t know if parents would feel comfortable leaving their child at our home, so, again, not only was I isolated, I isolated our whole family,\u201d Heming Willis said. \u201cYou know, the girls were isolated too, and that was by design; I was doing that. It was a hard time. It was a really hard time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite living away from the family, Heming Willis said that Bruce\u2019s second home is still close by, and that the family sees each other for breakfast and dinner. \u201cIt is a house that is filled with love and warmth and care and laughter,\u201d Heming Willis said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2022, Willis announced that he would\u00a0step away from the world of acting\u00a0after being diagnosed with aphasia, a language disorder that affects the ability to communicate. In a 2023 update, Willis\u2019 daughter Rumer announced that his diagnosis had\u00a0progressed<\/a>\u00a0into frontotemporal dementia.<\/p>\n

In 2023, Tallulah Willis, the daughter of\u00a0Bruce Willis\u00a0and\u00a0Demi Moore<\/a>, wrote an essay for\u00a0Vogue<\/a>\u00a0detailing her family\u2019s reaction to Willis\u2019 diagnosis of dementia earlier this year, where she called the ongoing period for the family \u201cthe beginning of grief.\u201d She noted that she and the rest of the family noticed that something wasn\u2019t right with Willis \u201cfor a long time\u201d but that it had been chalked up to Willis\u2019 hearing damage that he suffered throughout his long career in the world of action films.<\/p>\n
