Ireland-set detective<\/a> series Borderline has confirmed a UK release date over a year after its initial premiere.<\/p>\n

The MGM+<\/a> show is set on the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland as a body is discovered, with detectives from either side of the divide working together to solve the case.<\/p>\n

“Forced to collaborate on a serious crime, contrasting detectives Philip Boyd and Aoife Regan, with clashing personalities and backgrounds, overcome initial friction to form an unlikely but formidable crime-fighting partnership,” the synopsis adds.<\/p>\n

What to Read Next<\/p>\n

It has now been announced that the show will debut on ITVX<\/a> this October,<\/strong> with all six episodes dropping in one go. We don’t quite have all the information, as a firm release date is yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n

Borderline features Merlin’s Eoin Macken and Small Things like These’s Amy De Bhr\u00fan as detectives Boyd and Regan respectively, with the pair being joined by Lochlann \u00d3 Mear\u00e1in, Hugh O’Connor, Charlotte Bradley, Liam Heffernan and Craig McGinlay.<\/p>\n

The show has received a largely positive reception from fans, with one on IMDb<\/a> calling it a “great new unusual detective series”, adding: “There were lots of great unexpected twists in this new series.”<\/p>\n

Another suggested it was a “well written drama” that “deserves to be better known”, arguing “it’s a million miles better than many of the things we have seen on the main channels”.<\/p>\n

“The stories are well told and bring in a whole new cast of characters,” they added. “We found each one gripping and very different in setting and subject. It kept us all glued to the TV (pretty unusual for our family) and wanting more.”<\/p>\n

A third fan said that it was “quite bingeable over a couple of days” and that they “personally liked it”.<\/p>\n
