In 2017, 17 Navy sailors were killed in two collisions linked to crew fatigue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Since then, its defense contracts have totaled more than $20 million, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.highergov.com\/awardee\/ouraring-inc-10014509\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.highergov.com\/awardee\/ouraring-inc-10014509\/\">according to HigherGov<\/a>. Oura Rings are used to help multiple branches of the military with stress management, fitness optimization, fatigue risk management and illness detection, according to the release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Later this year, 1,600 sailors aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group will participate in a volunteer study on crew fatigue and be equipped with Oura Rings. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Oura says it has delivered \u201ctens of thousands\u201d of rings in support of defense initiatives, and Hale said the company will \u201ccontinue to scale our multi-year partnership\u201d with the agency.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The Fort Worth facility will also pioneer enhanced security measures and advanced automation that will expand to Oura\u2019s other facilities in the future, according to the release. Users have reported that their rings were made in Finland, Mexico and Estonia. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">\u201cThis investment will create high-skilled jobs, strengthen our local economy, and advance cutting-edge technologies\u2014including those with critical applications in defense and personal health,&#8221; said the area\u2019s U.S. Representative Beth Van Duyne.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Oura Rings have grown in popularity in recent years, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/davidphelan\/2024\/10\/02\/oura-ring-2024-release-date-new-model-here-just-days-away-report-claims\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/davidphelan\/2024\/10\/02\/oura-ring-2024-release-date-new-model-here-just-days-away-report-claims\/\">hitting 2.5 million in sales<\/a> in the middle of 2024. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">In late 2024, the latest model, the Oura Ring 4, which starts at $350, was released, so it\u2019s likely that number is higher.
