But we live in San Diego and as all Southern Californians know \u2013 it probably won\u2019t feel like fall until Halloween! So no fretting, just fun this long San Diego weekend.<\/p>\n<p>A lot of that fun will be focused on music, particularly fests.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you like a last-minute challenge, dance artist <a href=\"https:\/\/discolines.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Disco Lines<\/a> arrives at Petco Park\u2019s Gallagher Square at 4 p.m. Friday. The show, which includes Lee Foss and Deeper Purpose, is sold out, so off to StubHub you go.<\/li>\n<li>The Quartyard hosts the <a href=\"https:\/\/quartyardsd.com\/event\/sdtj-jazz-festival-pre-party-w-charlie-chavez-y-su-afrotruko\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Diego-Tijuana International Jazz Festival<\/a> pre-party \u2013 the countdown to the October event \u2013 at 5 p.m. Friday featuring Charlie Chavez y su Afrotruko. Tickets are free \u2013 reserve online.<\/li>\n<li>The two-day <a href=\"https:\/\/www.holoholofestival.com\/san-diego\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Holo Holo Music Festival<\/a> features J Boog, the Green, Common Kings, Wyclef Jean and Josh Tatofi topping a two-day bill of island and reggae music. We turn again to Gallagher Square, where gates open at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Two-day passes start at $106; day passes remain, but just for Sunday.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s the last hurrah for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/jazz-at-the-creek-2025-tickets-1304334432399\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jazz at the Creek<\/a>. Organizers say this year\u2019s edition, 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Educational Cultural Complex in Mountain View, is the \u201csunset finale\u201d after 14 years. See headliners Gerald Albright and Durti-Ryce featuring Duron along with San Diego Music Award winner Rebecca Jade. Tickets start at $55.<\/li>\n<li>If you prefer a longer jaunt, try <a href=\"https:\/\/jacumba.com\/pages\/calendar?utm_source=social&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=organic+instagram+link+in+bio&amp;fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAafEN0eIQsNL89HLyIQcQD3nK1voftSgl-u1mwCnSKnC5q2zGsJBzsnidRFMrg_aem_CG0PLo07xMh_K2jQFt9hgw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jacumbia Fest<\/a>, with traditional and psychedelic cumbia from Colombia, Mexico and the US. \u00a0Acts at 6 p.m. Saturday include Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto and Romperayo at Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel. Tickets are $39.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For many fans, Prince is one of the all-timers in pop music history. See him at the height of his powers in the re-release of the concert film <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/film\/news\/prince-sign-o-the-times-concert-film-imax-is-essential-1236500875\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sign o\u2019 the Times<\/a>, which is being offered in IMAX. (File photo by Chris Stone\/Times of San Diego)<\/p>\n<p>The 53rd annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=1025031533139571&amp;set=a.398885379087526\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Barona Powwow<\/a> takes over the Barona Sports Complex in Lakeside for the weekend, with the first gourd dance at 6 p.m. Friday. There\u2019s more dancing, with multiple chances to see the Grand Entry through Sunday. There are several contests too, with cash prizes. Admission is free.<\/p>\n<p>If you think of big money when you think of the ponies, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmtc.com\/calendar\/detail\/pacific-classic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pacific Classic<\/a>, Del Mar\u2019s richest and most prestigious race, begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. How big is the purse? A cool $1 million. Or opt for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmtc.com\/calendar\/detail\/family-fun-day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Family Fun Day<\/a> at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, featuring free admission for the littles and kid-friendly attractions, such as obstacle courses, bungee trampolines and rock climbing. Admission starts at $11.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/tiltshiftdance.org\/aadf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Asian American Dance Festival<\/a> wraps up at 6:30 p.m. Sunday with the Mainstage Showcase illustrating the theme, \u201cBecoming Asian American,\u201d at San Diego City College\u2019s Saville Theater. General admission starts at $35.<\/p>\n<p>And for Labor Day, a bonus! The 37th annual San Diego International Summer Organ Festival concludes at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
