The feature is built on Google’s improved OIS as well as Tensor G5’s new camera ISP, which is why it’s not available on prior releases. To make 100x shots usable, Google supplements the image with AI, which is a bit hit or miss in our experience.

But, out of the box, you might notice that your Pixel 10 Pro is without this option.

Our Damien Wilde noticed on his Pixel 10 Pro earlier this week that the device was limited to 30x zoom out of the box and, now, more users are noticing the same. A thread on Google’s support forums is trending with a number of users reporting that 100x zoom is missing from their Pixel 10 Pro.

Advertisement – scroll for more content

Thankfully, the fix is simple. By going over to the Play Store, you’ll just need to update the Google Camera app to its latest version. You’ll also want to make sure that you update the Pixel’s software version, as there is a 500-600MB update available after setup is complete.

Once everything has been fully updated, 100x zoom should appear.

The other factor at play is that 100x zoom is only available when exporting photos at the default 12MP size. So, if you have the 50MP resolution enabled, you’ll still be limited to 30x.

Notably, it’s been claimed that Pixel 10 ships with the screen’s refresh rate locked to 60Hz. This doesn’t appear to be a change in Google’s default settings, as most users are still seeing 120Hz as the default setting. If your phone does for some reason default to 60Hz, you can go to Settings > Display and toggle on “Smooth Display” to get the full 120Hz.

Happy Pixel 10 week! 🎉

More on Pixel 10:

Follow Ben: Twitter/X, Threads, Bluesky, and Instagram

FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. More.

[17
611,158,67,132,68
0":"post-184900","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mobile","8":"tag-mobile","9":"tag-technology","10":"tag-united-states","11":"tag-unitedstates","12":"tag-us
["GET
