This list is not comprehensive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Upcoming projects<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>South Houston Avenue widening and reconstruction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Project:<\/strong> South Houston Avenue will be widened between Will Clayton Parkway and Atascocita Road, turning the existing two-lane asphalt roadway into a three-lane concrete roadway with curb and gutter. A new traffic signal system, drainage improvements\u2014such as adding underground storm sewers\u2014are also included in the project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> Engineering work is 55% complete, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/d3n9y02raazwpg.cloudfront.net\/humble-tx\/e707ce6c-6f73-11ee-b4aa-0050569183fa-ebc5fcf5-5ee0-49f0-881b-bc93fbd4747c-1753206197.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Humble City Council July 24 meeting<\/a> documents.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Timeline:<\/strong> January 2026-January 2028<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cost: <\/strong>$1.13 million (engineering\/design services)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding source: <\/strong>city of Humble<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Meek and Manning roads paving, drainage improvements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Project:<\/strong> Existing asphalt streets\u2014including Meek and Manning roads\u2014will be repaved under this project between North Houston Avenue and Townsen Boulevard. Construction will include installing new roadside drainage culverts, new water lines and fire hydrants along Meek Road.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> Engineering work is 60% complete, according to Humble meeting documents.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Timeline: <\/strong>August 2025-January 2026<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cost: <\/strong>$241,750 (engineering\/design services)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding source: <\/strong>city of Humble<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ongoing projects<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kingwood Drive improvements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Project: <\/strong>The Houston Public Works Department is working on upgrades to Kingwood Drive including repairing the curbs and the replacement of pavement markings at the intersection of Kingwood and Woodland Hills drives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> The project was initially slated to <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/lake-houston-humble-kingwood\/transportation\/2025\/05\/30\/traffic-delays-expected-in-kingwood-as-road-improvement-project-gets-underway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">run May 29-June 6<\/a>, but the starting date shifted to late July as the contractor needed to complete a separate project first, said Erin Jones, HPW\u2019s public information officer, via an Aug. 11 email.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Timeline:<\/strong> late July-TBA<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cost:<\/strong> $28,000<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding source: <\/strong>Houston District E Office<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;&gt;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Here&#8217;s the latest information on three transportation projects in the Lake Houston area.
