{"id":185127,"date":"2025-08-29T17:26:19","date_gmt":"2025-08-29T17:26:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/185127\/"},"modified":"2025-08-29T17:26:19","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T17:26:19","slug":"nyc-labor-day-weekend-weather-forecast-gives-prelude-to-fall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/185127\/","title":{"rendered":"NYC Labor Day weekend weather forecast gives prelude to fall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Labor Day weekend in the New York City metro area is expected to bring sunny skies and milder temperatures \u2014 a reminder that fall is just around the corner \u2014 according to the National Weather Service in New York<\/p>\n<p>Even though fall won\u2019t officially begin for another three weeks, the unofficial end of summer is expected to give the Big Apple a brief preview of the changing season, forecasters said.<\/p>\n<p>While scattered thunderstorms are still possible for areas of Southeastern Connecticut and Eastern Long Island on Friday after 2 p.m., the remainder of the holiday weekend is expected to deliver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/NWSNewYorkNY\/posts\/pfbid021t5Pts5xk2Aoa9btNFSFAC5TC5SJTZoH7mewQt1YY4JrpyCPn4vGVcKhXV4SRLDCl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u201cplenty of sunshine, nice temperatures, and dry weather,\u201d<\/a> the NWS said in a Friday morning update. \u201cPerfect for family outings!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures in Central Park are <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/MapClick.php?lat=40.7146&amp;lon=-74.0071\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">expected to remain mild throughout the weekend,<\/a> with overnight lows in the upper 50s to low 60s and daytime highs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/NWSNewYorkNY\/posts\/pfbid0Fha3mTz7UZPjEFaf1JBRSz9uNdoUXdkP3GfJr8iwzuFiK9BuCbahnceSoUHbC4Phl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">topping out in the upper 70s<\/a> \u2014 more typical of mid-to-late September.<\/p>\n<p>While Friday afternoon carries a 20 percent chance of rain, skies are expected to clear later, with a high near 75 and west winds of 9 to 13 mph. Friday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 60 and northwest winds near 11 mph.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday will be sunny and pleasant, with low humidity, a high around 73 and northwest winds near 9 mph, followed by a mostly clear Saturday night with a low near 61.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures rise slightly on Sunday, with more sunshine, a high near 76, and northeast winds around 7 mph.
