From the lingering impacts of the Hollywood strikes to increased costs (labor, rent, ingredients, etc.), many variables continue to batter restaurant owners who operate on razor-thin margins. Los Angeles restaurants also <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2025\/1\/17\/24346323\/los-angeles-restaurants-struggling-wildfires-chefs-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">continue to struggle with the impact of the 2025 fires<\/a>, including slow business and devastating property loss, as well as the ongoing effects of ICE enforcement. Chef Ricardo Zarate opened the restaurant in June 2017 in the former Comme Ca space with a menu of ceviches, large-format meat dishes, and plenty of seafood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Amour<\/strong>\u2014 After less than two years, upscale <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2023\/12\/19\/24008186\/amour-west-hollywood-los-angeles-french-parisian-salon-bistro-restaurant-opening\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">West Hollywood French restaurant Amour<\/a> is in its last days. The restaurant, which opened in December 2023, will close at the end of August. During its run, Amour served a menu of French and Japanese-inflected cuisine from chef Dany Chavez-Bello (formerly of Spain\u2019s El Bull\u00ed and New York City\u2019s Bouley) and chef de cuisine Hendrix Vega.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\"><strong>Union<\/strong>\u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2024\/2\/21\/24079268\/union-restaurant-compound-long-beach-eugene-santiago-filipino\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Union located inside Compound<\/a>, a nonprofit cultural and community space with an art gallery in the Zaferia neighborhood, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DNhIEYMzp9Y\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suddenly closed its doors<\/a> this month.
