Emma Raducanu\u2019s US Open campaign has ended in the third round after suffering a heavy defeat to Elena Rybakina in straight sets.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Briton was beaten 6-1, 6-2 by the former Wimbledon champion, who put on a dominant display at Louis Armstrong Stadium.<\/p>\n

Rybakina<\/a> clinched her 44th win of 2025 and is now through to the round of 16 at Flushing Meadows for the first time in her career.<\/p>\n

After her impressive triumph, the Kazakh star reacted to her performance and took a moment to acknowledge Raducanu<\/a>\u2018s efforts in New York.<\/p>\n

In her on-court interview, the ninth seed said: \u201c[I\u2019m] really happy with the performance. It\u2019s not always easy to play against Emma, even if sometimes the score doesn\u2019t show it.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is a tough competitor. I am really happy with the way I played today and looking forward to the next match.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old has now reached the fourth round or better at every Grand Slam on the WTA<\/a> Tour.<\/p>\n

She said of the feat: \u201cIt\u2019s true, throughout the whole years, for some reason the US Open wasn\u2019t really successful for me, so hopefully this year it will change.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally happy that now I am going through, and hopefully I can go as far as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

The defeat for Raducanu marks another early exit at a major event in 2025, having won just seven matches at Grand Slams this season. <\/p>\n

At Wimbledon, Raducanu showed promising signs in the early stages, but ultimately fell in round three to world number one Aryna Sabalenka<\/a>. <\/p>\n
