Like you are having a meal with your family,&#8221; Andrew Thomas said.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/img_3119_720-e1756502194149.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>Their family, as well as customers, appreciate what Drew&#8217;s Place has been cooking for 27 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe food was fantastic,\u201d customer Greven Jordan said. \u201cI\u2019d give it a 12.\u00a0Out of one to 10, I\u2019d give it a 12.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Thomas family is proud of what they do and now they have another reason to be proud. They are one of the winners of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanexpress.com\/en-us\/newsroom\/articles\/corporate-sustainability\/american-express-and-the-national-trust-for-historic-preservatio.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">American Express and National Trust for Historic Preservation Grant<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProud as a peacock,\u201d Stephanie Thomas said, describing how they feel about the announcement.<\/p>\n<p>The program awards 50 restaurants nationwide $50,000 to help renovate and grow their business and they already have plans for the upgrades.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe intend to expand the outdoor patio,\u201d Stephanie Thomas said. \u201cWe intend to cover the area where the patrons pick up their to-go orders, so they are not out in the elements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/img_3120_720-e1756502164663.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>They also want to add a mural outside to add beauty and for the neighborhood to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>Customers are glad to see a small local business getting this recognition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it will bring a lot to the community and bring notice to the business and bring them extra business,\u201d customer Ignatius Jordan said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe it\u2019s good for the community,\u201d Greven said. \u201cSometimes you have to drive far out, Plano, downtown Dallas and it\u2019s right here in the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The renovations planned for Drew\u2019s Place are intended to be long-lasting. They want to pass this down, creating generational wealth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would like for it to just be a generational thing,\u201d Stephanie Thomas said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust get everything situated [for] my daughter.
