{"id":186702,"date":"2025-08-30T07:16:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-30T07:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/186702\/"},"modified":"2025-08-30T07:16:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-30T07:16:11","slug":"la-man-arrested-on-suspicion-of-stealing-copper-wiring-in-arcadia-that-temporarily-shut-down-911-san-gabriel-valley-tribune","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/186702\/","title":{"rendered":"LA man arrested on suspicion of stealing copper wiring in Arcadia that temporarily shut down 911 \u2013 San Gabriel Valley Tribune"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Los Angeles man was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of stealing about 60 feet of copper wiring \u2014 which prevented 911 calls from being answered in Arcadia.<\/p>\n<p>Police estimated the cost of the stolen wiring, on Aug. 7, and the repairs at $10,000.<\/p>\n<p>Officers saw the suspect in a vehicle in the 1700 block of Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Aug. 27, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Police pulled him over, and he got out and ran.<\/p>\n<p>Officers chased and caught him in the 600 block of Rampart Boulevard.<\/p>\n<p>Jose Gante-Gomez, 44, was booked at the Arcadia Police Department on suspicion of grand theft and resisting a peace officer.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators didn\u2019t reveal how they identified the suspect and the vehicle connected to the theft.<\/p>\n<p>The Police Department\u2019s communications center \u201cexperienced a failure that prevented 911 calls from being answered\u201d around 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 7, a police statement said.<\/p>\n<p>The 911 calls were re-routed to the Monrovia Police Department.
