The Watch GT 6 has already been teased for the Paris event on September 19, and now the Watch Ultimate 2 is starting to surface through regulatory filings that point to an imminent release.

Certification hints at an upcoming launch

Huawei hasn’t actually mentioned the Watch Ultimate 2 in any of its teasers, but certifications are telling a different story. The watch has appeared on SIRIM in Malaysia under model number MCH-AL00, which confirms its release in that market.

A TUV listing in Germany adds more detail by revealing IP68 and IP69 ratings, suggesting a device built to handle dust, water immersion, and even high-pressure water sprays. There are no specifications yet, but these approvals make it clear the device is real and nearly ready for launch.

And let’s not forget – last year, the Watch Ultimate 2 was also spotted in China’s MIIT database. That listing showed potential support for ultra-wideband and satellite SMS, hinting at Huawei’s intent to enhance connectivity features. While these details are still unconfirmed, they suggest the device could expand beyond durability into more advanced communication tools.

A quick look back at the first Watch Ultimate

To remind – the original Huawei Watch Ultimate launched in early 2023. It packs a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display, a tough design and serious water resistance rated at 10ATM and EN13319, so you can take it diving down to 110 meters. It even tracks depth, ascent rates, decompression data, and oxygen pressure. The diving features are impressive, but they’re pretty niche and not something most people will ever use.

You also get ECG readings, arterial stiffness measurements, and a five-band GNSS. There are over 140 sports modes, detailed running analytics and an expedition mode for hikers with back-to-start navigation and custom markers. Huawei went all-in on materials too, using liquid metal, ceramic, and titanium to make the watch durable but still lightweight.

Essential reading: Top fitness trackers and health gadgets

Battery life holds up well at up to 14 days, and you get both rapid and wireless charging. Pricing starts at around €750, so it definitely sits in the premium bracket. That said, there’s plenty of room for the next model to improve. There’s no LTE option, mapping tools are fairly basic, and both GPS and heart rate accuracy could be better. On top of that, Huawei’s software still feels limited when it comes to smart features compared to Wear OS and Apple Watch devices.

Why September 19 looks likely

The timing of these certifications lines up closely with Huawei’s planned Paris event. Since the Watch GT 6 is confirmed for launch, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Watch Ultimate 2 appears alongside it. This isn’t confirmed by Huawei, but the regulatory filings and event timing make the possibility hard to ignore.

We expect more details to emerge over the coming weeks. If Huawei sticks to its recent strategy, teasers for the Watch Ultimate 2 may drop soon.

Source: HuaweiCentral

Subscribe to our monthly newsletter!
